Kaltungo Chairman bags traditional title for outstanding leadership

The Emir of Kaltungo, Engr. Sale Muhammad has conferred the prestigious title of Togo Yamb Kaltungo on Hon. Dr. Iliya Suleiman, who is the the Executive Chairman of Kaltungo Local Government and ALGON Secretary of Gombe State.

The ceremony brought the presence of government officials, family, friends, and well wishers who converged to the Emir's palace Engr. Sale Muhammad (Mai Kantungo) to grace the occasion.

In his speech, the Emir of Kaltungo Engr. Sale Muhammad Yamb said the title of Togo Yamb Kaltungo was vested on Hon. Iliya Suleiman as a result of his outstanding leadership style to the people of Kaltungo which is serving his people with equal rights. 

While highlighting the past records he brought to the development of people in his domain, The Royal father equally charged him to continue bringing development and progress to the people.  

                                                                                                                   

Ealier, in his speech the Executive Governor of Gombe state, His Excellency Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya CON, Dan Majen Gombe who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, said the title Togo Yamb Kaltungo to Hon. Iliya Suleiman significes the profound traditions and cultures which underscores their roles, heritage, and values of our community. 

The governor prayed for Allah's guidance and blessings to the new turbanned Togo Yamb Kaltungo. 

                                                   

In his vote of thanks shortly after his turbaning as the 'Togo Yamb Kaltungo',  Hon. Iliya Suleiman expressed his deep appreciation to the Royal father for finding him worthy of the title which he described as 'call to service' promised not to fail his people.

The Chairman appealed to the people of Kaltungo for their continues support all the times vowed to follow the emir's footsteps to bringing progress to the people of Kaltungo. 

The new Togo Yamb Kaltungo equally thanked those who grace the occasion, prayed for their successful journey to their destinations. 

                                                            

Many government top officials which includes: Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Luggarewo, Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, local government chairmen led by the ALGON Chairman Barr. Sani Ahmadu Haruna , former deputy governor of CBN Mr. Edward Adamu and other dignitaries stormed Kaltungo to witness the turbaning ceremony of Togo Yamb Kaltungo, Hon. Iliya Suleiman.

Potable water: Polo residents appeal to government for intervention

 Residents of Polo community in Yola south LGA of Adamawa state have appealed to the Local Government Council (LGC) to assist the area by providing water to reduce the current water deficit s being experienced by the area due to lack of borehole and water pumps. The residents, who spoke with the reporter during the week, said that the appeal was necessary due to the hardship faced by people who have to trek to long distance in order to fetch water which in most case is unclean for consumption.  One of the residents, Mal. Bello Yahaya, expressed sadness with regard to lack of potable water for the people, appealing to the LGC to do the needful for the betterment of the inhabitants. He recalled that years ago, Polo area had functional water pumps with steady supply of water, but negligence and misuse of water pumps led to its malfunction.
